we can adjust stock inventory counts upwards via the "check in" function but currently there is no way to make an adjustment down for an item in stock inventory except to delete the item entirely from the catalog and then to re add it and check it in with the correct count.

Hi Robert Francke
We are working on providing adjusting stock qty for an inventory item and is still in development. We will try to push the changes soon.
Workaround:
For adjusting/reducing the stock qty for an item, you can do the following steps -
Create a dummy service call.
Add that item with $0 price with the qty number u want to reduce as Additional Product and mark that item as Installed it will prompt to check out that number.
Once you checked out that qty number for that item on-hand inventory qty will be reduced for that item.
This is temporary workaround until we release the proper inventory adjustment for a stock item.
